Mr. Pinney has over 30 years of experience as an investment banker, financial advisor and private investor focused on middle market and emerging growth companies. Throughout his financial career, Mr. Pinney has provided sell-side and buy-side advisory services, arranged private and public equity and debt financings, performed valuations and provided other expert support services for companies ranging in size from start-ups to Fortune 1000.

Mr. Pinney began his investment banking career with Security Pacific Corporation in 1979 and then joined PaineWebber where he worked on merger and acquisitions and numerous initial and secondary public offerings and fairness opinions. Since 1988, he has pursued a more entrepreneurial career advising and investing in private and public companies. Since 2002, he has been a Principal of Mayfair Associates, LLC and in 2009 acquired 100% of Mayfair Securities LLC.

Prior to attending business school and entering the financial world, Mr. Pinney was an operations manager at NCCM Ltd, the leading company in the Zambian copper mining industry.

REPRESENTATIVE CLIENTS

Burtin Family Divestiture Program (Exclusive Financial Advisor) – Urethane manufacturer and blender with downstream consumer product businesses including Line-X Franchise Development Corporation. Managed the sale of the family’s key holdings over four years.

OneNeck IT Services (Exclusive Financial Advisor) – IT services outsourcer specializing in managing Enterprise Resource Planning software platforms. This highly successful management buyout was recapitalized with minority private equity four years after the initial acquisition.

International Gold (Investor, Advisor) – Gold mining and exploration in Ghana and other parts of West Africa. Sold to Ashanti Goldfields.

Collectech Systems (General Partner of Investor Group, Investor, Board Observer) – Outsourced collection services for high volume, low balance services providers such as telephone and paging companies. Sold to a private equity consolidator of business services.

PricewaterhouseCooper (Expert Witness) – Litigation support relating to a precious metal refining business.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Descanso Gardens Guild (Past Chairman and Board Trustee) – A non-profit guild which operates a Los Angeles County owned display garden and provides educational services to the public schools and handicapped children.

Mr. Pinney was born in Dorset, England but spent his childhood in Kenya. Educated in the United Kingdom, he started his career as a Mining Engineer on the Zambian Copper Belt in Central Africa. He came to the United States to attend Harvard Business School and moved to Los Angeles in 1979. He resides in La Canada/Flintridge with his wife and twin daughters. In his spare time, he enjoys mountain and road bicycling, fly fishing, food and wine.
